Edith L. Stump, 97, a lifetime resident of Elkhart and Kosciusko counties, died at 3:07 a.m. March 1, 2008, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
She was born Nov. 24, 1910, in Elkhart County, to Floyd D.W. and Grace Pearl Ray Price. On Nov. 23, 1939, she married Howard Kimes, who died June 8, 1979. On May 10, 1980, she married Kenneth Stump, who died Jan. 8, 1994.
She worked at The Old Bag Factory, Goshen, when she was young. She co-owned Kimes Locker Plant, Goshen, with her husband, Howard, and developed and operated Hillcrest Mobile Home Park (currently Shamrock Mobile Home Community) with her husband, Howard. She enjoyed being in various camping clubs, gardening and being with her husband, Kenneth. She attended Open Bible Baptist Church, Barbee Lake.
Surviving are a son, Michael (and spouse Trudy) Kimes, Barbee Lake (Warsaw); five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Maxine Ditmars, Goshen; and faithful caregivers, Marie Goodenough and Connie Chandler. She was preceded in death by a son, Dallas Kimes, who died March 20, 2002; two brothers, Guy Price and infant Charles Dallas Price; and a sister, Lucille Ernsberger.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Sam Carnes of Open Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to service Wednesday at the funeral home.
