Students in Mrs. Byers' first-grade class at Madison Elementary School conducted an edible science experiment. They made solar oven s'mores using a pizza box, foil, black paper and plastic food wrap. The children put marshmallow cream and chocolate on graham crackers. The students then placed their s'mores in the solar ovens and put them in the sun for 35 minutes. The chocolate melted nicely, and the class enjoyed the treat. Pictured is Lilian Higginbotham.
