Music, art and food will be found at Edgewood Middle School from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

The public can enjoy it all at the fourth annual "An Evening with the Arts" in the commons, hallways and library of the school.

According to art teacher Sherri Johnson, the jazz band will perform at 7 p.m. There will be a violin feature about 7:30 p.m., followed by the Edgewood choir, a dulcimer performance and two acoustic guitar players.

Eighth-grade advanced art students will demonstrate a variety of art media, from painting and drawing to print making. Throughout the school, there will be artwork by students displayed.

"Every art student from Edgewood has a piece displayed," said Johnson.

In the library will be a book fair. The Family and Consumer Science and industrial arts classes will have projects displayed. FACS also will have cooking demonstrations. The program cover for the evening was designed by eighth-grade student Devin Ruppert, according to Johnson.

"The goal is to showcase the arts at Edgewood Middle School," she said. "It's fine arts as well as practical arts."

The event is free and open to the public.
