The Edgewood Chess Team of Alek Jansen, Louis Bolduc, James Wynn and Ian Slone attended the state team chess tournament recently in Terre Haute. There were 32 teams that qualified for the middle school division. After a day of chess, in which the team beat schools like Canterbury, they ended up with first place. The individual game total gave them the second-place trophy for the state competition. They received a trophy, which was given to the school.
