Eddie J. Wright, 82, died at 12:58 p.m. Dec. 12, 2010, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
He was born April 21, 1928, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Ed and Bertha Allen Wright. On June 6, 1954, in Silver Lake, he married Billie Enis, who survives.
He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp Oct. 5, 1951, in Indianapolis, and was honorably discharged Oct. 3, 1953, in Great Lakes, Ill. He served in the Korean War and was a Purple Heart recipient of action that occurred Dec. 28, 1952, in Western Korea. Living most of his life in Kosciusko County, he was town marshal of Silver Lake for four years and patrolman for the Winona Lake Police Department for 14 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 73 F&AM and Scottish Rite for more than 50 years. He was dedicated to his family and was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather.
Also surviving are two sons, Ronald (and spouse Donna) Wright, Claypool, and Rick (and spouse Bambi) Wright, Winona Lake; two daughters, Cindy (and spouse Mike) Miller, Warsaw, and Pam (and spouse Jim) Whitley, Atwood; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Waitsel Wright, Akron. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Heberon, Otto and David Wright, and two sisters, Catherine Spacy and Edna Nelson.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, officiated by Pastor Terry Bradford of First Freewill Baptist Church of Kosciusko County, Claypool. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
