Eddie “Ed” Gale Wolfe, of Warsaw, passed away at 2:33 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw at the age of 68.
He was born on Sept. 3, 1951, in Wabash, to Hildreth June Sherbahn Wolfe and Galen Wolfe Jr. On June 16, 1973, he was married to Karen Jane Michael Wolfe.
Ed was a 1969 graduate of South Whitley High School and later attended McPherson College in Kansas from 1971-1972. Ed ran a dairy farm in South Whitley for many years and continued in the dairy industry in South Carolina until 1985. He was a lifetime hard worker and for a number of years he worked in the trucking industry. In 2004, he and his wife, Karen, started Karen’s Homestyle To Go in Warsaw and operated it until his passing. Ed had a very special heartfelt ministry to families … he dearly loved to build family altars. One thing everyone knew about Ed, was that he was an avid Notre Dame fan. He was resident of Kosciusko County for the past 31 years where he was a member of New Life Christian Church & World Outreach in Warsaw. Ed will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father and doting grandfather and will be dearly missed by all.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Karen Jane Wolfe, Warsaw; son, Edgar (Patty) Wolfe, Richmond Hill, Ga.; and his two daughters: Stacey (Brent) Reed, Claypool; Bobi (Nate) Gephart, North Manchester. Also surviving are his 12 grandchildren: Madison (husband Noah), Kaitlyn, Maisey, Kyle, Isabella, Sydney, Daphne, Jordyn, Zoe, Evelyn, Sadie and Brightie; great-grandson, Benjamin; and three sisters: Susan (Terry) Bouse, Silver Lake; Barbara Burkholder, South Whitley; Patti (Gerald) Sobecki, Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Chris Cook in 2004; and his brother-in-law, Gale Burkholder, in 2016.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1 from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. at New Life Christian Church & World Outreach, 744 S. 325 E, Warsaw. Due to safety concerns from COVID-19, the visitation is limited to 10 people at a time. Please use good judgment in determining the length of your visit or if you should attend. Ed’s life will be celebrated with a private family service on Saturday, May 2 at the church and officiated by Pastor John B. Lowe. Private burial will follow at Clemmens-Fishers-Ross Cemetery in Claypool.
