MONTPELIER - Eda E. Gilbert, 69, of Montpelier, passed away at 5:08 a.m. Nov. 26, 2010, in Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne.
She was born Jan. 7, 1941, in McKee, Ky., to Gilber and Nannie Shackelford Maggard. On Dec. 23, 1963, in Van Buren, she married Glen Olen Gilbert, who survives.
She formerly worked at the Hoosier House Restaurant, Montpelier; Essex Corp, Van Buren; and the United Methodist Memorial Home, Warren. She was a member of the Ladies Bowling League, Hartford City. She enjoyed spending her spare time at Little Barbee Lake, North Webster. She formerly attended First United Methodist Church, Montpelier.
Also surviving are a daughter, Vicki A. Gilbert Haviland, Petroleum; a son, Michael D. Gilbert, Montpelier; a grandson, Cory Wm. Haviland, Petroleum; and a brother, Paul Maggard, McKee, Ky. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Amos, George and Elwood Maggard; and three sisters, Alice Flannery, Alma Huff and Betty Belt.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W. Windsor St., Montpelier, with the Rev. John Bellante officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Memorial Park, Montpelier.
Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
