Economy

Editor, Times-Union:

Like most people in our area, I too worry about the state of our economy and jobs. Unlike most people around here, however, I see changes in our health care as helping the problems with both. We lose businesses to other countries because of the cost our current health care system imposes on employers. This, in turn, hurts the American economy.

Our representative in Washington, Mark Souder, has decided to spend more time looking for conspiracies, and trying to get former President Regan's image on the dime than working for his constituents to bring jobs to our area. He has decided to just be another person in the "Party of No". No ideas, no working across the aisle, no to compromise and no to the American people. Now is the time for new representation.

In the upcoming election Dr. Tom Hayhurst is running for Indiana's 3rd congressional district seat. Dr. Hayhurst has dealt with the struggles in health care first hand. In response to his community's needs he has already co-founded low-cost health care clinics in Fort Wayne and Wolf Lake, and works in the Allen County Tuberculosis Clinic weekly. He has strived to improve health care for veterans which, considering we are currently fighting two wars is more important than ever. Dr. Hayhurst is ready, willing and able to fight for the residents of the 3rd district be it on health care, jobs, environment or education.

I encourage you to give Dr Hayhurst a chance. Please check him out at www.tomhayhurstforcongress.com
