Economic Uncertainty

Editor, Times-Union:
I would like to expand “How Much Did You Pay.” First of all, I’m not a teacher or economist and I didn’t go to college. Hopefully, I can explain my point of view.
A history lesson of business - the evolution of business is agriculture (farming), manufacture then service. Right now, we are in the service phase.
Two things happen at the same time. America no longer made in the “USA” and didn’t have people trained to repair anything.
If you were in business and wanted to be competitive, you left for cheap labor, no unions, low taxes, and a higher price ratio.
Is America getting a fair shake. From other trade partners, I really don’t know.
American buying habits have changed. Most people no longer are buying quality any more but buying a cheaper one because the item no longer can be fixed.
Will tariffs (a tax) will work, I don’t know. I’m more worried about inflation. I buy most of my clothes from Goodwill.
