Echoes Of The Past Will Be At The County FairThe Kosciusko County fair is right around the corner.
The festivities will kick off on July 9 with the fair parade. Echoes of the Past will be well represented in the parade with numerous antique and vintage tractors of different makes and models, according to a news release from the tractor club.
Vintage and antique tractors are on display during fair week at the Antique Village, as well as several pieces of vintage agricultural equipment. When visiting the tent, you can experience a pioneer kitchen and view over 100 primitives, farm and hand tools, some testing even the most familiar and knowledgeable.
Kids activities are scattered throughout the village. Play in the corn pit, take a ride on the barrel train, hop on a pedal tractor and don’t forget to snap a picture at the photo board. Kids from 1 to 100 can take a spin around the area on a tractor. Experience what its like to drive a real tractor while maneuvering the obstacles.
That buzzing sound you will hear is the live sawmill demonstration. Cutting timber throughout the week lends a lost sound many may not have ever heard, the release states.
Before leaving the village, don’t miss out on the homemade ice cream made by using the power of a tractor to crank the ice cream machine. If you visit during meal time, you can also be treated to sweet corn, steam cooked in a trash can. Both the chili and ham and beans are cooked over an open fire.
A visit to the Antique Village is a must stop while visiting the fair, the release states. Kids and adults alike will find something interesting to talk about and more than likely something you have never seen before. Check the fair booklet for schedule of activities.
