Echoes Of The Past Host Tractor ShowMENTONE - The Mentone Airport was the location of the latest Echoes of the Past event.
With nearly perfect weather in the forecast, vendors and exhibitors began filling the airport grounds on Thursday afternoon in preparation for the show and swap meet that began on Friday and concluded Saturday, according to a news release from Echoes of the Past.
Exhibitors from as far away as Crown Point brought in 220 items for display to the delight of patrons visiting the show. Items on display included a corn crib, hay wagon, potato planter, corn picker, Willy Jeep, Army Truck, saw rig dyno and even a helicopter. Numerous implements were displayed, 28 hit and miss engines, 36 pedal tractors, 47 garden tractors and 67 vintage and antique farm tractors. Allis Chalmer, Minneapolis- Moline, John Deere, International, Oliver and Farmall equipment were all represented.
Kids could enjoy the tractor driving experience or the barrel ride. Exhibitors had a chance to put their tractors on the dyno and everyone could enjoy food provided by Wheels on Fire Cancer Crusaders.
The club’s next event will be at the Claypool Summer Festival where they will be serving homemade ice cream after participating in the parade.
