The Echoes of the Past club member Morris Folk found himself teaching the students at Lakeland Christian Preschool all about farming on Oct. 26.
The school invited the club to display tractors for their farm day. Students were treated to a discussion on what it takes to be a farmer and asked lots of interesting questions. They then had the opportunity to sit and “drive” the two Farmall tractors Morris brought for display. Smiles reached from ear to ear as the students climbed upon the tractors and farmed if only for a few minutes.
The Echoes of the Past prides itself on continuing to educate the public, no matter the age, on agricultural history and the importance of farming today and yesterday, according to a news release from Echoes of the Past. The club is also active in community events. Their next public event will be their Cram the Tram event where they will be collecting toys for Toys for Tots followed by their Cookies with Santa event on Dec. 9.
If you would like more information on the club, it can be found on their website at www.theechoesofthepast.com.
