The 8th Annual Fat & Skinny Tire Festival was held this past weekend and once again drew thousands of racers and spectators despite the inclement weather. According to Alan Alderfer, one of the organizers of the event, 360 people competed in road races on Saturday and Sunday. In the women’s criterium race Sunday, Robin Bauer won. Bauer also took the Saturday road race. Bauer races for the Racing For Riley team. Racing For Riley is the name for this year’s Alderfer Bergin Racing Team. On Saturday, the men’s road race was won by Greg Strock, who races for Texas Roadhouse, and his teammate John Grant won the Sunday race. The best local finisher in the Sunday men’s race was Matt Light with the Racing For Riley team. In the mountain bike races, the best local finisher was Anna Jean Dallaire, who won the women’s race. ‘It was an excellent year though the weather didn’t help us out,’ said Alderfer.
