Loss of power to his car left Donald Hawkins, 52, of South Edgewater Drive, Silver Lake, and his wife in the water early Saturday morning. Hawkins' car apparently hydroplaned down the road and into the water at Silver Lake about 3:15 a.m. Saturday. Neighbors and rescuers helped get Hawkins and his wife out of the water near the intersection of Dixie and Edgewater drives. No injuries were reported. The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department investigated the accident. Photo by Gary Nieter, Times-Union
