Earl Michael, 96, Warsaw, passed away at 3:50 p.m. June 3, 2015, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
He was born April 28, 1919, in Nappanee, to Mervin and Elmeda Wagner Michael. He married Clara Mae, who preceded him in death Jan. 28, 2001. On Oct. 13, 2001, in Warsaw, he married Mary Osborne, who survives in Warsaw.
He was a 65-year resident of Warsaw. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater as a staff sergeant with Company H 135th Medical Regiment from 1941 to 1945. He served as a machine operator for the Christner Gravel Company. He was also a member of First Christian Church of Warsaw, and a member of American Legion Post 49, Warsaw.
Also surviving are: a son, David Michael, Indianapolis; a stepson, Pat (and spouse Jane) McClure, Spartanburg, S.C.; a stepdaughter, Kathy (and Doug) Horton, Carmel; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He also was preceeded in death by one sister and three brothers.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Gary Boschain officiating. Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery with military honors performed by Warsaw American Legion Post 49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126, Warsaw.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
