ROCHESTER – Earl E. “Gene” Williams, 89, Rochester, passed away at 6:10 a.m. Sept. 13, 2015, at Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester.
He was born April 21, 1926, in Royal Center, to Lloyd and Glades Nellie Cohagen Williams. On June 17, 1951, in the Fulton United Methodist Church, he married Charlene Iris Jackson, who survives.
He served in the South Pacific during World War II with the U.S. Army. He retired from Camcar Textron, now Acument Global Technologies in Rochester. He was a member of the Whippoorwill Community Church and enjoyed woodworking, stain glass and reading. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor.
Also surviving are: three sons, Rodney (and spouse Lisa) Williams, Stacy, Minn.; Randy (and spouse Denise) Williams, Rochester; and Ryan (and wife Amy) Williams, Leesburg, Va.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Williams and sister, Mary Walters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Brian Sewell officiating. Burial is in Fulton Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to service Wednesday at the funeral home.
