For the past 25 years, the Eagles tribute band Hotel California has traveled all across the globe.
"We've shared the stage with the Doobie Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Gretchen Wilson and Styx," said bassist and vocalist Andy Lapointe in a telephone interview Monday afternoon.
On April 24, the Eagles tribute band will take to the Wagon Wheel Theatre stage in Warsaw. Tickets are on sale until April 24. First-row tickets are $29; second-row are $24; and all other row tickets are $19. Show times are 7 and 9:30 p.m.
"Each show is different," Lapointe said. "Sometimes we've done long sets, sometimes shorter sets."
What's good about the Eagles, he said, is that their music caters to every age category and to fans all across the world.
"So many good (songs) I like doing, so many hits," said Lapointe of his favorite songs.
Lapointe has been with the band since it was founded 25 years ago. The music still stays the same, he said.
"We're Eagles fans, too. That helps a lot," he said.
Lapointe said he became an instant fan of the Eagles when he heard their first album "Take It Easy" in 1972.
"What I love about those guys is they're vocally great, and they're musically great," he said.
Three years ago, Hotel California played with Styx at a baseball stadium. There were more than 100,000 people there.
"It was amazing. You feel like a million dollars when you're playing. And we're just a cover band," Lapointe said.
For the last quarter of a century, he said, they've been the busiest cover band around. He attributed that to doing a good job at every show. They play at about 100 shows a year, but Lapointe said he likes the small venues just as much as the big ones.
"I like them all because they all have Eagles fans and get into what we're doing," he said.
After the Warsaw show, Hotel California will travel to Arkansas, Virginia, Canada, Ohio and celebrate New Year's Eve in New Mexico.
