Eagles Theatre To Spotlight Independent Film, Native Wabash Director

Posted
WABASH – The Eagles Theatre will start May by hosting an independent film made by a Wabash native.
Director Denis Hennelly will welcome the public to view his film “Goodbye, World” May 1 at 7 p.m. He also will give attendees a special introduction to his film as well as hold a question-and-answer session after the showing. Although the film is not yet rated, it is intended for mature audiences.
Tickets are $5 and are available for purchase before show night at www.eaglestheatre.com
“Goodbye, World” tells the story of James and Lily, a couple living off the grid while raising their young daughter in a cocoon of comfort and sustainability. According to the Eagles Theatre press release, when a mysterious mass text ripples across the country and triggers a crippling, apocalyptic cyber-attack, James and Lily’s home transitions from sheltered modern oasis to a fortress for the estranged old friends that show up at their door for protection and community. The unexpected reunion – abundant with revelry and remembrances – is quickly undermined by the slights of the past, the spark of lingering flirtations and the threat of a locally grown new world order. Balancing tense confrontations with slivers of levity, Hennelly pinpoints a future where ideology explodes into action in every area, the release states.
