Eagles Sweep Squire Swimmers In Non-Conference Meet

NORTH MANCHESTER – Sophomores Parker York and Jacob Slavkin won the 100 and 200 freestyles for Manchester, and the Lady Squires swept the top three spots in the 100 backstroke, but both teams lost to visiting Columbia City in a non-conference swim meet Monday. The girls score was 96-56 for the Lady Eagles, and the boys score was 80-39 for Columbia City.
Halie Wampler, Katie Barker and Jennifer Robles finished 1-2-3 in the backstroke for the Lady Squires. Cora Barnett had second-place finishes in the 200 IM and the 100 freestyle, and Skye Fierstos was second in the 50 free and 100 breaststroke. Lillian Myers was second in the 100 butterfly. Lexi Webb was third in both the 50 free and 100 breaststroke.
Slavkin was second in the 100 butterfly for the Squires. Luke Donathan was second in both the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke, and Eric Morales was third in the 100 free.
Both of Manchester’s swim teams will compete in a non-conference meet at Bluffton on Thursday.
