MENTONE — E. Elaine Alderfer, 70, Greenfield, formerly of northern Fulton County, died at 6:17 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2017, at Hancock Regional Hospital, Greenfield.
She was born Dec. 15, 1946, in Rochester, to Louis E. and Louise E. Windbigler Kelly. On Aug. 7, 1966, at the Walnut Gospel Church in Argos, she married Roger L. Alderfer, who survives.
She had worked for the former Torin/Brookside Corp., Rochester.
She was a graduate of Mentone High School in 1966. She was a master gardener and was a member of the Herb Society.
Survivors include her husband, Roger Alderfer, Greenfield; siblings: Patricia Johnson, Rochester; Mary Downs, Houlton, Maine; Barbara Widner and Kenny Michael, both of Logansport; Paul Kelly, Anaheim, Calif.; N. Jean Kelly and Dave B., both of Elkhart; M. Janet Kelly, Evanston, Ill.; James Kelly (wife Deb), Rochester; Evelyn Barton (husband Tim), Mentone; Douglas Kelly, Warsaw; and Brian Kelly; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis E. and Louise E. Kelly.
Services will be at 6 p.m. Friday, July 21, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone. The Rev. Dale Doran, who married Elaine and Roger 50 years ago, will officiate. Burial will be in Richland Center Cemetery, Rochester.
Visitation is from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
