SYRACUSE – Dwayne Kitson, 48, of Pierceton, passed away April 15, 2012, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born Jan. 28, 1964, in Providence, R.I., to Harold and Joyce Hapner Kitson. On April 8, 1988, he married Susan Hatfield, who survives.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a lifetime area resident. He was a heavy equipment operator and was involved for many years in the fiber optic line placement. He worked for R.L. Gilbert, Direct Line, Roese and Creek in the directional drilling business.
Also surviving are a daughter, Brooke Shepler, Syracuse; a son, Zachery Kitson, Pierceton; two granddaughters; a sister, Tonya Marsh, Detroit, Mich.; and two brothers, Bryan (and spouse Stephanie) Kitson and Darrin Kitson, all Warsaw; and his father, Harold Kitson, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Kitson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Eastlund Funeral Home, 7458 E. CR 1000N, Syracuse. Burial will be in Solomon Creek Cemetery.
