Duo Helps Lady Trojans Reach Bi-County Semis In Roundup

BOURBON — The Class 1A No. 10 Triton girls basketball team is one step closer to its first-ever berth in the TCU Bi-County Tournament championship game. In Tuesday’s opening round, the Triton Lady Trojans defeated the Argos Lady Dragons 54-47 in Bourbon, advancing to Thursday’s semifinals at LaVille High School against LaVille, who defeated New Prairie 58-49 Tuesday. In their second win over Argos this season, the Lady Trojans were led by senior Shana Anderson’s 20 points, 10 rebounds and four steals, while junior Taylor Hatfield posted 15 points and six assists. At Thursday’s semifinals, Culver and Class 1A No. 2 Oregon-Davis square off at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Triton/LaVille game. The winners of each semifinal will then meet at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday back at LaVille. In the opening round of the TCU Bi-County Tournament Tuesday, the Triton boys basketball team took its first step toward its fourth-straight championship with a 50-28 home win over Argos. Senior Clay Yeo had 24 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals in the win, which improved the Trojans to 7-4 on the year. With the victory, the Trojans will take on LaVille in Friday night’s semifinal at 8 p.m. at LaVille High School. Winning 10 events, Warsaw was led by Jayden Parrett, who won the 50 free and 100 back, while also joining Spencer Davidson, Caleb Snyder and Matt Wildman on the winning 200 medley relay, as well as Josh Miller, Andrew Thrasher and Davidson on the victorious 400 free relay.
