Staff Report-
Families that purchase electricity from Duke Energy or NIPSCO have the opportunity to support Tippecanoe Valley Boomerang Backpacks by participating in Energizing Indiana’s Home Energy Assessment incentive program.
For every individual that schedules and completes a Home Energy Assessment through Energizing Indiana from now through Dec. 31, Tippecanoe Valley Boomerang Backpacks will receive a $50 donation.
To qualify, the appointment must be scheduled using the Energizing Indiana – Home Energy Assessment Enrollment Guide link on the front page of the Tippecanoe Valley website at www.tvsc.k12.in.us
Once the Home Energy Enrollment Guide appears on the screen, click on “Click Here to View Your Customized Web Enrollment Link” to get started.
The home energy assessment can help raise a home’s performance, lower energy consumption, improve in-home air quality and increase the home’s value.
It includes the following:
• An energy advisor will assess the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems in the home to determine operating efficiency;
• Up to nine traditional bulbs will be replaced with compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs);
• Up to three low-flow faucet aerators (2 bathroom/1kitchen) will be installed;
• Up to two low-flow shower heads will be installed; and
• A comprehensive report detailing what can be done to start saving energy and make the home more comfortable will be provided.
Home Energy Assessments are funded by utility rates and there are no separate fees to participate.
