Drug arrest follows Warsaw bus incident After reportedly waving a firearm and making threats at a school bus, a Warsaw man was arrested on drug charges recently.
No firearm was found.
Caleb Michael Devine, 26, of 326 Eisenhower Pkwy., Warsaw, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 5:27 p.m. Feb. 7. He was preliminarily charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and possession of marijuana/hash oil/hashish. Bond was set at $5,000 surety and $250 cash.
Court documents filed Thursday list the charges against him as possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor with an enhancement to make it a Class A misdemeanor; and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.
Devine was previously convicted of possession of marijuana in Kosciusko County on May 21, 2012.
On Feb. 7, Warsaw Police Department officer Daniel Clemens was dispatched to 310 Academy Court on a report of a man waving a firearm and yelling threats at a school bus. He was provided a description of the man and began searching for him. Two other WPD officers found the man in the back yard of 326 Eisenhower Pkwy.; he was identified as Devine.
Devine told Clemens that he had a smoking pipe and Clemens found a clear glass pipe containing methamphetamine residue on Devine. He also found a plastic bag containing marijuana.
Devine said he was having an argument on the phone very loudly. He said he did not own a firearm. His grandmother and owner of the residence at 326 Eisenhower Pkwy. gave officers consent to search her home. WPD officer Phillip Hawks could not find a gun.
Clemens spoke with a woman who saw Devine yelling toward the bus, but she did not see a firearm.
