Police investigate the scene of an 11:45 a.m. Tuesday accident in which the driver lost control of her vehicle and struck a pole, breaking it in half. Erica L. Wilcox, 21, of East CR 575N, Leesburg, was westbound on Levi Lee Road at Clearwater Drive, east of Ind. 15, when the vehicle she was driving dropped off the edge of the road. Wilcox then apparently steered to the left, overcorrected and slid on the slick roadway before hitting the pole, according to Trooper Brooks Shirk of the Indiana State Police.
