The driver of this semi tractor/trailer refused medical attention for bleeding to his head after the rig rolled onto its side along CR 650W. Donald R. Sparling, 55, of Watseka, Ill., told police that he pulled the rig toward the edge of the road to accommodate an oncoming vehicle and the shoulder collapsed under the weight of the rig, causing the tractor/trailer to roll onto its side. The 12:34 p.m. Tuesday accident occurred north of Crystal Lake Road. The semi was carrying eggs. Damage to the rig was estimated at $5,000 to $10,000. Photo by Gary Nieter, Times-Union
