ETNA GREEN -ÊA Bremen ma injured in an accident Tuesday evening was airlifted then released from a South Bend Hospital Tuesday following a one-car accident on Ind. 19.
Edwin D. Slabaugh, 20, of Bremen, was in serious condition when he was airlifted from the scene of the accident to Memorial Hospital in South Bend with extensive head injuries Tuesday evening. After arriving at the hospital, Slabaugh was treated and released.
A passenger in Slabaugh's car, Rebecca Miller, 20, of Milford, suffered minor injuries and was treated at Kosciusko Community Hospital.
Around 5:43 p.m. Tuesday, Slabaugh was southbound on Ind. 19 at CR 800N in a 1988 Lincoln when he left the road on a curve and traveled several hundred feet before hitting a house. Police do not know why Slabaugh's car left the road.
No one in the house was injured, but the house sustained substantial damage.
The accident remains under investigation by the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department.
Multi-Township EMS, Etna Green Fire Department and South Bend Memorial Air Ambulance assisted at the scene.
