ETNA GREEN - A Warsaw man was airlifted to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, after a 3:21 a.m. accident today on Ind. 19, one-quarter mile south of Welch Road, near Etna Green.
Chad A. Gottschalk, 34, of South Maple Run, suffered unspecified injuries when the car he was driving struck several fence posts and an earth embankment. The Samaritan helicopter ambulance landed at the park in Etna Green to transport Gottschalk. He was listed in fair condition late this morning.
According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, it is not known why Gottschalk's vehicle left the roadway.
Assisting at the scene were personnel from Mentone and Etna Green fire departments and Mentone and Multi-Township emergency medical services.
The accident remains under investigation.
