PIERCETON -ÊA Warsaw man is in critical condition at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, this morning after a one-car accident late Saturday night.
Steven M. Vetor, 40, of Warsaw, was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital, then airlifted to Parkview Hospital after his 1997 Pontiac Firebird hit a tree near CR 400E, Pierceton, at 11:15 p.m.
According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Vetor was traveling at a high rate of speed when he lost control in a curve. Vetor then overcorrected and hit a tree.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department was assisted at the scene of the crash by the Pierceton Police Department, the Winona Lake Police Department, Pierceton Fire Department, Pierceton First Responders and Multi-Township EMS.
