Driver Critical After Crash

NAPPANEE -ÊA North Manchester man is in critical conditional at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne after an accident late Wednesday night.

Dewey Stinson, 32, of 10870 S. CR 600E, North Manchester, was airlifted to Parkview Hospital with extensive head injuries by Samaritan after an accident at the intersection of CR 800W and CR 640N, south of Nappanee.

Stinson was driving a 1998 Chevrolet pickup traveling south on CR 800W when a 2000 Mitsubishi, driven by Allison Slone, pulled into his path.

According to the Indiana State Police, Slone, 16, of 10191 W. CR 500N, Etna Green, stopped at the stop sign on CR 640W and pulled into the intersection. Stinson had the right of way on CR 800W and hit Slone's vehicle.

Stinson's pickup rolled over and he was thrown from the vehicle. Police do not believe Stinson was wearing his seatbelt.

Slone suffered minor head injuries and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation.
