More details were released on the two-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of U.S. 30 and North CR 350W, Warsaw.
According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office accident report, Jeffery B. Griffith, 55, Fillmore, Utah, said he was driving a 2020 Frei Cascadia eastbound on West U.S. 30 North, coming to the intersection with North CR 350W. A 2010 Chevrolet driven by Wilman Cordon-Garcia, 37, West Old 30, Warsaw, entered the roadway headed southbound. Griffith said when he saw Cordon-Garcia’s vehicle, it was too late to take corrective action and Cordon-Garcia’s vehicle hit the trailer attached to Griffith’s truck, hitting the rear front tire on the driver’s side.
The airbags deployed in Cordon-Garcia’s vehicle.
There were no injuries at the time of the incident and both drivers refused EMS treatment.
Cordon-Garcia said she did not have a driver’s license or insurance on the vehicle she was driving and was driving out of necessity to drive to work.
Cordon-Garcia was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 3:56 p.m. Wednesday, according to booking information, for operating a vehicle without ever obtaining a license.
