Posted

One driver was arrested and the other cited after a two-car accident on East Winona Avenue west of Bronson Street in Warsaw at 4:23 p.m. Thursday.

Chrystal A. Amburgy, 41, of South Bunting Lane, Warsaw, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on charges of driving while intoxicated, public intoxication and neglect of a dependent. The neglect charge was made because Amburgy's 5-year-old child was in the car with her at the time of the accident. A Breathalyzer reportedly showed her to have a blood-alcohol content of .16 percent.

According to a Warsaw Police Department report, a car driven by Travis A. Nichols, 16, of West CR 800S, Claypool, made a left-hand turn in front of Amburgy's car and she was unable to avoid the collision. Nichols was cited for failure to yield.

Amburgy suffered facial abrasions and refused medical attention.

Damage was estimated at $5,000 to $10,000 to Nichol's car and $2,500 to $5,000 to Amburgy's car.
