'Driven'

Editor, Times-Union:

If street racing and road rage are illegal, then why are producers still being allowed to promote a television show titled "Driven"?

If a football jock can be suspended for an entire season for his off-the-field inappropriate actions, and a shock jock can be suspended for two weeks for his inappropriate on-the-air comments, then why aren't the producers of "Driven" being suspended?

Where's the push, pressure and outcry for these suspensions? When will Pepsi and Coca-Cola start pulling their advertising dollars? Are they concerned about inappropriate programming such as road rage and street racing during family oriented sporting telecasts?

When are you the consumers going to rise and shine and take a stronger stand? Do you want this inappropriate behavior and programming to continue?

When will the no-spin zone look internally and offer up some solutions? Why haven't the presidential hopefuls spoken out or tried to curb this vicious programming? We just had a national tragedy and shooting on one of our major campuses; we don't need a massacre brewing up on our national highways.
