A Warsaw man who pleaded guilty to a drive-by shooting at Center Lake Pavilion in March will spend up to four years in prison for the crime.

Jonathan Aramburo, 18, of 340 E. Levi Lee Road, Warsaw, received his four-year sentence Thursday afternoon in Kosciusko Circuit Court.

As part of a plea agreement, Aramburo pleaded guilty to felony criminal recklessness, and felony charges of dealing cocaine and aggravated battery were dropped.

In March, a juvenile girl who was at Center Lake Pavilion for a birthday party was shot while standing outside the building. She told police a shot from a dark blue Dodge Durango hit her in the leg. She was treated at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, for her injuries.

The victim and another juvenile girl, 16, gave police a description of two Hispanic men with very short or shaved hair inside a dark blue Dodge Durango.

Shortly after the incident, Aramburo and Sandro Piedra Medina, 18, of 329 Eisenhower Parkway, Warsaw, were arrested in connection with the shooting.

When police searched the vehicle Aramburo and Piedra were in, they found shells for a 12-gauge shotgun, 2 ounces of cocaine and items used for dealing cocaine, including bags and scales.

Medina, whose case is pending, faces felony charges of aggravated battery, dealing cocaine, and aiding, inducing or causing criminal recklessness.
