The only petition brought before the Kosciusko County Drainage Board Thursday was approved unanimously.
Clifford Pifer sought to build a garage within 75 feet of the Cauffman ditch drain easement, but no closer than 40 feet.
He told the board he was 43 feet from the ditch now. In 1992, a variance was granted to allow him to build within 25 feet of the ditch.
"I don't see any problem with (his petition)," county surveyor Richard Kemper told the board.
The drain is near CR 400 West and CR 525 South in Seward Township.
The drainage board meets the fourth Thursday of every month at 9:30 a.m.
