TAWAS CITY, Mich. - Dr. William C. Loop, 61, of Tawas, died Jan. 18, 2009, in his residence.
He was born March 8, 1947, in Warsaw, to Robert and Mary Elizabeth Herr Loop.
He graduated from Warsaw High School and did his undergraduate work at Hanover College, majoring in biology. He received his PhD. in physiology from the University of Cincinnati and received a medical degree from the University of Cincinnati, majoring in internal medicine. He served his residency at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He began his practice at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital in 1980. He was former chief of staff at the hospital and was a member of the American Medical Association. He was an avid boater and former member of the Tawas Bay Yacht Club. He was a former pilot and enjoyed golfing and traveling. He was most recently studying law at the Concord Law School.
Surviving are a son, James Allen Loop, Midland; a sister, Ann (and spouse James) White, Warsaw; a nephew, Rob (and spouse Lisa) Musgrave, Bourbonnais, Ill.; a niece, Beth Musgrave, Lexington, Ky.; and his special friend, Susan Tait, Ann Arbor. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private graveside service will be at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
