Dr. Seuss has inspired many kids over the years to pick up a book and read. To celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday, which is Sunday, Warsaw Community Schools Food & Nutrition Department Friday encouraged students to also try new foods by having a ‘Seusstastic’ breakfast and lunch. All the cafeterias at Warsaw Schools were decorated in the Seuss theme and staff dressed as Seuss characters. Students in kindergarten to 12th grade were offered the same menu, with food items renamed in Seuss’s honor. The elementary breakfast menu included items like ‘A Wocket in My Pocket’ and the lunch menu included items like ‘Grickle Grass Salad with Thing 1 & Thing 2’. Pictured is Food & Nutrition Dept. Director Marci Franks (C) dressed up as The Cat in the Hat with Madison Elementary School first-graders Lucy (L) and Simon (R).
