Douglas Gene Schrader, 51, of 72 Southwest Santee, Greensburg, and formerly of Warsaw, died at 2:19 a.m. March 4, 2007, in the emergency room at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.
He was born Dec. 18, 1955, in Lansing, Mich., to Robert D. and Carol Schroeder Schrader. On Feb. 29, 1992, he married Vicki Calvelage Clay, who survives.
He was an automotive engineer for K.S. Bearings, Greensburg, and formerly worked at UTA Automotive, Bourbon, and Riblet Plastics, Bristol. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a former member of Goshen Elks Club; a member of Sons of the American Legion, Warsaw; and a lifetime member of the Purdue Alumni Association. He graduated from Warsaw Community High School in 1974, and Purdue University in 1987.
Also surviving are a son, Anthony Schrader, Goshen; a daughter, Lauren Clay, Connersville; three grandchildren; his mother, Carol Schrader, Warsaw; his father, Robert Schrader, Sebring, Fla.; and two brothers, twin Michael Schrader and Dan Schrader, both of Warsaw.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Terry Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
