Dorothy Jean CauserSYRACUSE – Dorothy Jean Causer, 96, formerly of Syracuse, passed away at the Indiana Veterans Home in West Lafayette on Feb. 1, 2022.
She was born in Syracuse on Oct. 28, 1925, to Hugh and Agnes McConnell Causer. She was a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a switchboard operator having connected presidents and foreign dignitaries. After being honorably discharged from the service, she began working for Penn Controls until her retirement in 1991. She was an avid organist where she played for a Lutheran Church. She was a lover of animals, caring for her beloved dogs, as well as the local bunny rabbits she would often feed. She was also an avid car enthusiast having owned several Ford and Pontiacs she would keep immaculate.
Services will be held Saturday, April 16 at 11 a.m. at the Syracuse Cemetery. Eastlund Funeral Home, Syracuse, is handling the services.
