Dorothy 'Dot' Evelyn Meck

MILFORD – Dorothy “Dot” Evelyn Meck, 97, Warsaw, passed away July 26, 2015, in her residence.
She was born Oct. 29, 1917, in Petoskey, Mich., to Lucy Culp.
She was raised in and around Flint, Mich., and attended high school there. In 1938, she moved to Indiana and raised her five children. She was very involved in the American Legion in Warsaw and served as the VFW Ladies Auxiliary president.
She enjoyed taking pontoon rides on the Chain-of-Lakes and dancing with the love of her life, Joe Powers. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed a good card game, especially euchre. She will be remembered as a great mother and a phenomenal cook.
Survivors are: four children, Patrick (and spouse Peggy) Meck and Alan (and spouse Chris) Meck, all of Pierceton; and Cheryl (and spouse James) Moneyheffer and Darrell Meck, all of Leesburg; 12 grandchildren: Kurtis (and spouse Karen) Meck, Brian (and spouse Kris) Meck, Angel (and spouse Alan) Blakely; Justin, Jamie, Cory and Caleb Moneyheffer; Joshua Goble; and Zach, Jason, Cassie and Matthew Meck; five great-grandchildren, Andrew and Colin Meck, Jaden and Miranda Moneyheffer and Hali Moneyheffer-Wilson; one great-great grandchild, Jackson Meck; and one sister, Patty Buzzitta, Grand Rapids. She was preceded in death by a son, Tim Meck, five brothers and one sister.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Milford.
Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. July 29, 2015, at the funeral home.
