MENTONE - Doris P. Leslie-Linton, 86, of 501 Dolan Drive, Apt. A, Syracuse, died at 10 a.m. Jan. 22, 2009, in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw.
She was born June 17, 1922, in Mentone, to Dewey and Ethel Fisher Whetstone. On May 27, 1950, she married James L. Leslie, who died May 28, 1964.
She was a factory worker for more than 25 years and retired in 1989 from Da-Lite Screening, Warsaw. She was associated with the Harrison Center Church of Etna Green. She enjoyed fishing, animals and flowers. She loved the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. She was always known as a wonderful cook.
Surviving are two sons, Bruce James (and spouse Elizabeth) Leslie, Tucson, Ariz., and Larry Lee Leslie, Syracuse; two sisters, Edna (and spouse Willis) Cowen, LaPaz, and Mildred (and spouse Alan) Grindle, Warsaw; two granddaughters, Diane (and spouse Bryan) Wirth, South Bend, and Jennifer (and spouse Christopher) Frey, Leesburg; and two great-granddaughters, Amarae Stouder and Liddia Frey. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lois Walsh and Mary Lou Whetstone; and a brother, Lowell Whetstone.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Pastor Bill Stevens officiating. Private graveside services will be at Mentone Cemetery.
