Doris May Bryant of Warsaw passed away at 6:27 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, at the age of 90.
She was born Aug. 12, 1927, in Mishawaka, to Charles Theodore and Gertrude Mae Likens Billman. On May 22, 1954, she was married to Sidney Ernest Bryant, who passed away Sept. 4, 2001.
Doris received a theology degree from Apostolic Bible Institute in St. Paul, Minn. She and her husband founded and served as pastor of Syracuse United Pentecostal Church, Syracuse, from 1967 to 1973.
Doris was a loving wife; mother to Nina (Vernon) Boyd, Quispamsis, New Brunswick, Canada; Patti (Buddy) Chandler, Pierceton; Judy (Thomas) Roberts, Pierceton; and Jack (Sheri) Bryant, Winona Lake; grandmother to 33; great-grandmother to 36; great-great-grandmother of three; and friend to hundreds.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law, one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Doris’ greatest joy was serving Jesus Christ and sharing the gospel with everyone she met. She prayed daily that her family would serve the Lord. Her children and grandchildren rise up and call her blessed. Proverbs 31:28
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
Her celebration of life will be conducted at noon Thursday, June 21, with visitation an hour prior to the service at 11 a.m., at Community Life Center, 825 N. Harrison St., Warsaw, and officiated by Dr. Dan Cox.
Burial will follow with a graveside service at Sweet Cemetery, Albion.
