Doris M. Todd, 89, Warsaw, passed away at 10:30 a.m. May 9, 2016, in Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center, Warsaw.
She was born July 25, 1926, in Whitley County, to W. Arthur and Helen Oliver Buntain. On April 7, 1978, in Burket, she married Robert H. Todd, who preceded her in death March 4, 1997.
She is a graduate of Larwill High School. She was a waitress at many Warsaw restaurants; retired in 1978 as a clerk from L.M. Berry Co. (National Yellow Pages Service); was a nurse’s aide at Murphy Medical Center; and she worked in the cafeteria as a baker for Warsaw Community Schools.
She was a 50-year member of Order of Eastern Star No. 88, Warsaw, and also a member in Palmetto, Fla., serving as worthy matron in both chapters. She was a member of Kosciusko Community Hospital Auxiliary; American Legion Auxiliary 49; served as a gray lady with the American Red Cross; was a den mother and Girl Scout leader and mother advisor for Rainbow Girls; and worked with 4-H when her children were members of the organization.
Surviving are three children: Bobi Brumfield, Mary Anne and Jim Brumfield, all of Warsaw; five grandchildren: Todd Bayne, Jared Brumfield, Jorie (and spouse Nick) Coon, all of Warsaw; Jessica Knoerzer, Chicago; David Knoerzer, Claypool; six great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; three siblings: Vera (and spouse Karen) Clark, Atwood; Louise Dacey, Columbus, Ohio; and Alice Brumfield, Claypool. She was preceded in death by three siblings: Ardith Rager, Wendell Buntain and Gertrude Maggert.
Services will be at 6 p.m. Monday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Bob Jarboe, Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
