MENTONE — Doris L. Grubbs, 89, Bourbon, died at 7:37 p.m. Dec. 26, 2016, at Visiting Nurses Home, Fort Wayne. She was born July 3, 1927, in Mentone, to Seth and Mildred Robbins Flenar. On Sept. 25, 1945, in Mentone, she married Leslie G. "Tuffy" Grubbs, who preceded on May 25, 2013. She was a homemaker. She was a 1945 graduate of Mentone High School. She attended Riverview Community Church. She liked flowers and enjoyed watching basketball. She loved her dog Buddy and her family. Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Lewis, Rochester, and Denise (husband Marty) Heckaman, Etna Green; a daughter-in-law, Tammy Grubbs, Bremen; grandchildren: Jay and Leewanna Lewis, Amy Noel and Bob Cooper, Missy and Jeff Smith, Justin and Emily Grubbs, Landon Grubbs and Kati Martin, Alyssa and Adam Siefer, Jason and Cortnie Heckaman, Adam and Amanda Heckaman, Rusty and Michele Heckaman, and Holly and Isaac Sellers; 20 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Max (wife Linda) Flenar and Kay (wife Sue) Flenar, both of Etna Green. She was preceded by her parents; her husband, Leslie G. "Tuffy" Grubbs; a son, Tim Grubbs; a son-in-law, Terry Lewis; and four brothers: Larry, Bob, Don and Jerry Flenar Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Pastor Rod Ruberg officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon. Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
