Doris Gene Troy, 91, of Warsaw, died at 3 a.m. Oct. 16, 2010, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

She was born June 22, 1919, in Warsaw, to Elmo and Leone Roberts Calvert. On May 3, 1941, in Warsaw, she married Francis Eugene Troy, who preceded her in death.

She formerly lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Chicago, Ill.; New Canaan, Conn; and Fort Madison, Iowa. She was a homemaker and a former elementary school teacher for Warsaw Community Schools. She was a member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church, Warsaw, and Delta Gamma Sorority. She was an avid camper, traveler, hiker, reader and fisherman. She loved spiritual education and religious studies, spending time with people and laughter. She spent many volunteer hours at Grace College, Winona Lake, assisting the students.

Surviving are her loving family, including a daughter, Beverly (and spouse Warren Andrews) Adams, Denver, Colo.; a son, Stephen Troy, Huron, S.D.; and three grandchildren: Luke, Jennifer and Kelly Adams.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, Warsaw, with Father Daniel Martins officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
