BOURBON - Doris E. Stackhouse, 85, of rural Bourbon, died at 1:07 p.m. Feb. 20, 2009, in her daughter's residence.

She was born July 1, 1923, in Elkhart County, to Homer and Ella Lemler Woodcock. On Feb. 1, 1942, she married Leonard L. Stackhouse, who died June 8, 2002.

A lifetime Bourbon area resident, she was a homemaker and a farmer's wife. She was a longtime Marshall County 4-H leader for more than 35 years. She was a member of Bourbon First United Methodist Church, where she attended the Go and Grow Ladies Circle.

Surviving are three daughters: Donna (and spouse Mike) Bocko, Bourbon; Marsha Brownewell (and fiance Tim Howard of Niles, Mich.) Elkhart; and Sue (and spouse Danny) Perry, Plymouth; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eleanor (and spouse Marvin) Young, Bourbon. She was preceded in death by a son and a brother.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bourbon First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Day officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Cemetery, Bourbon.

Calling is from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the church.

Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon, is in charge of arrangements.
