Doris E. Arnold, 85, died at 5:40 a.m. March 9, 2009, at Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw.

She was born Aug. 1, 1923, in Fort Wayne, to Cecil and Hazel VanGilder Vaughn. On Sept. 29, 1940, in Warsaw, she married Joseph A. Arnold, who preceded her in death April 23, 1994.

She was a receptionist and secretary at First National Bank for 18 years, retiring in 1985. She graduated from Atwood High School on April 19, 1940. She was a member of Walnut Creek United Methodist Church. She lived most of her life in Warsaw and loved her family.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda L. Arnold, Warsaw; two sons, J. Andrew (and spouse Brenda) Arnold, Warsaw, and Thomas A. (and spouse Kacy) Arnold, Claypool; four grandchildren: Julie (and spouse Doug) Ruckman, Fort Wayne; Amy (and spouse Matt) Weaver, Greenwood; Brett (and spouse Anna) Cumberland, Hinsdale, Ill.; and Shawn (and spouse Kelly) Cumberland, Fort Wayne; six great-grandchildren, Naomi, Paul, Neil, Drew, Dylan and Brianna. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Don Vaughn, who died in 1934, and Robert Vaughn, who died in 1923; and three sisters, Mary Alice Shipley, who died in 1965; Elizabeth Wray, who died in 2006; and Juanita Vaughn, who died in 1923.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Walnut Creek United Methodist Church, 2033 S. CR 150W, Warsaw, with the Rev. James MacDonald officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
