Doris 'Dore' Ernestine White Melson

TRIMONT, Minn. - Doris "Dore" Ernestine White Melson, died April 7, 2008, in Fairmont (Minn.) Medical Center.

She was born May 12, 1932, in Chicago, Ill., to Charles and Hilda Thoede Leese. In January 1960, in Warsaw, she married Douglas E. White, who preceded her in death. In June 1985, she married Robert Melson, who survives.

She graduated from high school in Chicago and from Chicago School of Business. She worked at the Wrigley Building and L. M. Berry Co., Chicago and Warsaw. Moving to Mason City, Iowa, from Warsaw, in 1961, she worked in the English department at Mason City High School. After her marriage to Robert, she moved to Trimont then Cedar Lake and wintered in Sebring, Fla. She attended Evangelical Covenant Church, Trimont, and was a longtime member of Mason City Country Club and Fox Lake Golf Club, rural Sherburn, Minn.

Also surviving are her children: Lisa (and spouse Jim) Steffen, Forest City, Iowa; Lori (and spouse Lowell) Kruger, Bloomington, Minn.; and J.D. (and spouse Carolyn) White, Omaha, Neb.; stepchildren: Celeste (and spouse Bob) Kietzman, Cave Creek, Ariz.; Nancy (and spouse Mahmoud), Nagib, Edina, Minn.; and Tracy (and spouse Beth) Melson and Troy (and spouse Liza) Melson, both of Trimont; and 17 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers.

Services were April 10 at Evangelical Church, Trimont, Minn., with the Rev. Mark Anderson officiating.

Kramer Family Funeral Home, Trimont, was in charge of arrangements.
