Dorinda K. Shelton, of Warsaw, passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, at the age of 81. She loved being a wife, mother and grandma who will be dearly missed by everyone.
She was born on July 29, 1944, in Argos, to Dorthea Bosset and John Hessler. On Dec. 25, 1987, she married Ronald Shelton and would have celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary this year.
Dorinda loved working with children and had the compassion, patience and empathy to work as a teacher’s assistant in special education for 15 years. She enjoyed solitary time doing her intricate needle work, loved fishing and playing cards with friends and family. Dorinda also loved sports, especially being a die-hard I.U. Hoosier fan as opposed to her husband loving the University of Kentucky. She enjoyed worshipping alongside her church family at Atwood Aldersgate United Methodist Church where she was a longtime member.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Ronald Shelton, Warsaw; son, David Miller, Little Silver, N.J.; step-son, Ronny (Lisa) Shelton, Warsaw; and her stepdaughter, Donna (Rod) Utter, Rochester. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Susie (Devon) Stahl. She was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Darcy Julian Miller.
Friends and family are invited for visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. A graveside service will be held at noon on Friday, Nov. 14 at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, and officiated by her son-in-law, Rod Utter. There will be an hour of visitation prior to processing to the cemetery.
