Dorene C. RomineMENTONE – Dorene C. Romine, 86, of rural Mentone, passed at 7:50 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2022, at Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw.
Dorene was born on Feb. 21, 1935, in Wabash, to the late Lewis and Jesse Miller. She had a brother, Melvin, and they lived with several different foster families until they made their home with Hershel E. and Neola Bash McGowen, of Mentone. She married on May 6, 1952, in Plymouth, to David G. Romine, and they enjoyed 69 years together before her passing.
Dorene was a hard worker and a homemaker. She spent many hours working on the farm and raising her family. She was a great cook and loved to be with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, David Romine, of Mentone; a daughter, Cathy and husband Roger Miller, of Etna Green; a son, Randy and wife Beverly Romine, of Etna Green; grandchildren: Troy and wife Megan Miller, Chad and wife Kim Miller, Kerry Romine Hales and husband Jake, Cory and wife Emily Romine, and Kylie and husband Garrick Haskins; 10 great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Dorene was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and two brothers, which included Melvin.
Following her wishes, a private family service was held at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone.
